  • This is it, the iconic motorcycle that reinvented sport bikes in the early 90’s, weighing in nearly 100 lbs. less than its competition at the time. These are getting extremely difficult to find these days, much more so in this condition. This is a 49-state SC28 model; no California emissions equipment/cams.
    Bodywork:
All bodywork is OEM Honda and in excellent condition.  There are zero cracks or missing tabs. The windscreen is a brand new Zero Gravity clear screen; optically superior to the stock screen. The original rear fender is still fully intact; a true unicorn part. Every OEM reflector and warning label is present. The OEM tool kit and brand new owner’s manual are present in the trunk compartment.
    Engine:
I recently had the motor refreshed at a Honda dealership by a Honda-certified mechanic with 25 year’s experience that I’ve known personally for over 20 years, as I planned to keep this indefinitely and also ride it. The cylinders were honed and f
    resh rings and bearings installed; gauged all the rods to ensure they were in spec, replaced the tensioner and adjusted the valves. It literally runs like brand new. No funny stuff like bored-out cylinders;
    all stock
    .
    Transmission:
The trans was also refreshed (these bikes are known for having issues with second gear); I had a fresh OEM second gear installed, and had the gears polished and undercut for optimum performance. The trans refresh was done by R&D Race Transmissions in Florida because they know their stuff.
    All OEM parts.
    Brakes:
The brake system is completely overhauled as well. I replaced all the internal seals in the calipers, as well as crisp and clear new fluid reservoirs, new OEM brake pads, and CoreMoto stainless lines for better performance than 28-year-old rubber lines.
    Carbs:
I completely overhauled the carburetors as well. All new internal o-rings, seals, t-fittings, and a fresh FactoryPro Ti titanium jet kit, jetted for stock for the most crisp throttle response.
    Tires:
Brand new Bridgestone Battlax S21 tri-compound tires
    Forks:
Freshly rebuilt with OEM seals, bushings, and fluid.
    Drive Train:
I replaced the aged OEM chain and sprockets with ultra-light Renthal 520 sprockets (+2 rear) and an RK gold chain for reduced un-spring weight over stock.
    Other:
Brand new OEM air cleaner, sub-air cleaner, wheel bearings, steering head bearings, throttle cables, clutch cable
    Notes:
The bike had 55K on it when I bought it, which is why I had the motor and trans completely gone through to be sure it is solid. It is now completely fresh, with roughly 2500 miles since the refresh. I installed a gauge cluster that shows around 15K on it because the original dash had 90’s-era white gauge-faces glued to it by the previous owner, and I wanted it right (I was able to get the aftermarket faces off, but there was glue on the original ones underneath them). There is a minor scuff on the right side frame rail, but it’s right on the body line and doesn’t stand out. This is the one you’ve been waiting for. It’s near-mint, mechanically brand new, and ready to roll.
